COURSE STRUCTURE AND FEE

 

Both courses comprise of one 2-hour class per week for a total of 8 weeks. The cost per 8-week term is $480.

 

BASIC SEWING COURSE:

 

This course is suitable for beginners. You will learn many sewing techniques such as; seam finishes, bindings, hemming, buttons and button holes, applying zippers, braids or trimmings, pin tucking, gathering, pleating etc. These hand and machine techniques will be practiced on sample pieces of fabric. All machines and a cutting table are set up, just come along with your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and you will be surprised at what can be achieved in only 8 weeks.

 

BASIC CLOTHING DESIGN COURSE

 

This course is best suited for people who have always had an interest in design but require the technique and skill to express their ideas on paper. I will help you sketch and render your ideas, draft a pattern for your chosen design, cut fabric and finally, assemble your garment. This course also covers reshaping and remodeling of clothing, allowing you to adjust existing  garments to suit different figure types or clothing eras.
